PALM SPRINGS PROGRESS

The old above- just down right wrong. The new below- first phase. We still need the stone top and other touches...

The old physical therapy gym below...who would want rehab here?

The new transformation below...calm, soothing and a place I would want to visit.

These past few days found me in Palm Springs, again. This time to install the first phases of one of the two nurses' station and part of the physical therapy gym. From the before photos you can see that what I inherited was a very dated facility in need of a redo. My aim is to infuse a chic sophistication and modern, beautiful edge to what was once institutional. With unexpected finishes like cerused oak, brushed stainless, and modern art...slowly we are turning the corner. While the staff has yet to say a simple thank you...the best compliments have come from those who spend the most time there...the residents. It has been most rewarding to hear the women say that I have breathed life into a place that once made them despondent and sad. Or family members, who often dread the daily visit, stop me and say thanks. I even have a designer who is 83 who has given me her stamp of approval! Its all about the shift...inwardly and outwardly.
Even something as simple as a nurses station, well designed, has the power to uplift spirits and bring hope to those who need it most.
The executives have praised- which is icing on the cake.
While some may feign gratitude...those who inhabit this space 24/7 prove my point--time and time again---
Everyone deserves life infused with style and beauty. Everyone.
Happy Thursday Friends.
