DECOR FILE : FABULOUS UPDATE

ITS THE SMALL THINGS
Why one would cover a wall in carpet?

Such a welcome sight...no more carpet. Hello clean and modern. Sometimes you only need a little to make a big impact.

I think, like most, I am very happy that it is Friday. Though this does not mean the end of the work week for myself ... it does mean that, at least for two days, the incessant telephone calls will almost stop. And that is such a nice feeling. When I am in the midst of projects- especially large ones like these nursing facilities, sometimes its easy to get wrapped up in the process worrying about the end result and trudging towards the finish line. When can I approve the nurses station? When do the Maya Romanoff tiles arrive? Why hasn't the crown molding been caulked and painted yet? The list, literally, goes on and on. It was a welcome sight to see the transformation of the nurses substation this morning in my "In" box.

Once covered in mauve carpet..I know, WHY?... this little station that could was a real eyesore. And while I would have liked to tear it down - I knew that with a little TLC all would be just fine. Of course, its new incarnation had to be done on a dime so with a little bit of primed bead board and a fresh coat of "White Corn" the new station makes me very happy. The cost is maybe forty dollars but, in my opinion, looks like a million bucks. Simple, modern, and crisp against the smokey brown walls.

It may not seem like a big leap towards completion but it is a reminder that the design is moving in the right direction and that my vision for this space is coming together just fine. And any time one's mind can be put at ease is a fabulous thing, indeed.

TGIF Friends!
